Pakistani PM’s New Turkish Drama Advice after “Dirilis: Ertugrul”

Pakistani PM's new Turkish Drama advice excited both Turkish and Pakistani audiences. After having recommended "Diriliş: Ertuğrul" (Resurrection: Ertugrul), this second recommendation has strengthened the cultural ties between the two countries even stronger.

If you haven't really watched the highly-recommended drama, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, yet, then what is it that you've really been doing during this quarantine? Thanks to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan's request to broadcast the Urdu dubbed version of the show on PTV. Thus, it has become easier for the audience to watch the very popular Turkish drama.

Now, the PTI leader, Faisal Javed Khan has shared another Turkish show after Diriliş: Ertuğrul. This is what the Pakistani PM recommended for the Pakistani youth to watch.  "After Dirilis: Ertugrul PM Imran Khan wants Pakistani TV managers to telecast Yunus Emre يونس امره (Aşkin Yolculuğu) in Pakistan.

Who is Yunus Emre?

"Yunus Emre was quite talented in mystical philosophy, especially that of the 13th-century poet and mystic Jalaluddin Rumi. Serial is a great example of meticulous attention to detail work," he added.

Earlier, a video of the premiere interacting with the media went viral. Because he shared his two reasons on why the Turkish show Diriliş: Ertuğrul is a must-watch for the youth of the country.

Why does Imran Khan request His People to watch Turkish Dramas?

In a minute-and-a-half long clip, the Pakistani PM commented, "We've always had content from Hollywood and Bollywood which Pakistani TVs showcased them here in our country. A third end culture was being promoted. That's why I want our youth to know the difference between our values and theirs."

He went on to add, "We have a culture with romance and history as well. However, it has to fill and fit with Islamic values. Sadly, the content from Bollywood is full of vulgarity. But it wasn't the reality of the period of three or four decades ago."

The premiere continued, "Drug culture, sex crimes are on a high. I want a different culture that we must air. So our youth can know that there is a way of life apart from questionable shows that have been airing." Pakistani PM's new Turkish drama advice seems to keep affecting cultural dialogues between Turkey and Pakistan.

The prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, had stated that Pakistani youth can learn about Islamic history and ethics by watching the Turkish drama. Due to the fact that the common history and religion, Turkish series have already been very popular in Pakistan. However, this popularity made its pick with Resurrection: Ertugrul. And so, the prime minister has acknowledged this popularity and demand for Turkish dramas.
